Tablet Chuwi Hi8 SE review: 8.0" IPS FullHD 1920x1200 2GB RAM 32GB ROM Android 8.0

China vs CZ

First I looked at the offer of Czech e-shops, i.e. Alza and CZC. I was looking for a 7-8 inch tablet, with a FullHD resolution, at least 2GB RAM and ideally with the latest Android.

As you can see from the pictures, the selection is quite small - tablets don't really sell much anymore. The only machine that would perhaps come under consideration was the Prestigio Grace 5778 LTE (PMT5778_4G_D). It even has the option of inserting a SIM card and also a fingerprint reader. But somehow I had trouble believing the Prestigio brand, preferring to search on Chinese e-shops until I found the Chuwi Hi8 SE.

Why Chuwi? Because simply a good ratio of performance and of course price. Compared to Prestigio it has 32GB ROM, better processor, faster WiFi ... and maybe something else (you can find and compare the parameters yourself after all - everyone has different preferences). Moreover, I found it on GearBest on sale for $95.99, and it was from a European warehouse (Italy), thus without any additional duty and VAT. Admittedly still with some extra postage, but again it was home in a week (the package eventually went from Italy via Germany and service from Germany.eu - details here: Virtual postal address in Germany and forwarding the package works a treat). The final total price was finally 2549 Kč (tablet, IT -> DE) + 148 Kč (DE -> CZ).

Packaging

A simple cardboard box contained the tablet and charger, over a display film. So nothing extra, but what more could you ask for. Except maybe the case, which is worth buying as soon as possible.

Using experience

We have had the tablet for a short time, so more first impressions for now:

• The tablet came already loaded, just turn on and configure - everything rolled out in Czech without the slightest problem
• Performance is sufficient - but if you want more things at once after the tablet, but think for a moment
• Display is beautifully bright, colours great - nothing to complain about
• Sound is loud enough and comfortably enough for YouTube videos and games

Rating

So for me definitely a good buy, for 2697 Kč I'm very happy. For any prospective buyers, I recommend taking a while to search, especially the various discount promotions can knock the price down a few more dollars. Of course, the risk with these things is the possible claim, which would probably be more complicated.
