Purchase and review HITACHI 43HK6100 TV
zveřejněno 2020-12-11
During the summer I bought a new 43" HITACHI 43HK6100 TV. But only now I got to write a few observations that may help someone in choosing a new TV, and still save some money.
During August I was dealing with the purchase of a new TV. How I turned out I can evaluate now after a few months. The TV signal is solved by terrestrial broadcasting (no satellite, cable or IPTV), and the computer is connected to the TV as a multimedia center.
Choosing a TV, the crucial parameters
There are clouds of TVs. They come in different sizes, use different types of screens, with different specs and at different prices - so the choice is complex. So it's important to first be clear about what's most important when choosing. For me, it was (in order of priority):
- Size 43", as a larger one would not fit in the space.
- A stand without legs around the edges, relative to the space it will be standing on.
- Model year ideally 2020 (picked in August)
- HDR support
- Price

What, on the other hand, wasn't important?
- K4K support - but it turned out that you can't really do it any other way.
- Brand - wasn't important at all, it was more the price that mattered
- Operating system, app support - there's a computer connected to the TV that takes care of the multimedia functions. The TV itself is not even connected to the internet.
I was still interested in the following things, but they are not very easy to find out in advance:
- Sound quality
- Speed of switching stations
- Sorting of stations
- Appropriate controller (button placement ...)
- Quality of terrestrial broadcast on 4K TV
Of all this, the HITACHI 43HK6100 TV came out as the number 1 adept https://www.alza.cz/43-hitachi-43hk6100-d5770973.htm.

Saved money with Best Price Guarantee
The TV was available at both Alza and CZC, and I prefer Alza. There the TV was about 7990, at CZC it was 7490. While choosing, I noticed that Alza offers a "Best Price Guaranteed" service for this product. I followed the instructions, contacted them and sure enough, in a couple of hours I got instructions and a link to buy at a better price. In the end, the TV cost me about 7390 CZK on Alza. So Alzo - kudos! See you next time.
Notes from using the TV
Such a mix of everything possible:
Picture, sound- totally fine. If I had a TV next to me for 2x the money, I might see/hear some difference. (If not, something would be really wrong.) The picture looks beautifully colorful and sharp to me. This is true for terrestrial broadcasts, but also for e.g. cartoons (bedtime stories) in SD quality, which look good too, without any image pitting. The sound could perhaps be better, of better quality - but it is amply sufficient.
Speed - satisfaction. Turns on the TV in about 3 seconds, switches channels almost immediately.
Driver - not bad. I'm annoyed by the Netflix, YouTube ... buttons, which I don't need at all. Also, the controller is balanced and the buttons are similar - it's hard to tell where the "front" is in the dark. The previous TV had the flashlights in the remote on one end, the extra weight on one end made it easy to figure out the orientation of the remote.
4K - there is a Windows 10 PC connected to the TV. These don't support 4K at all, I'd say. You can change the resolution in Windows, but why choose a smaller one, it makes the picture out of focus. Set your DPI (high enough) - it makes some apps look bad. Leave 4K - for example video previews are then quite small even for the maximum size.
HDR - I have at most something downloaded from the internet as a source. And my computer with integrated Intel graphics won't play that. So if I do, I'll load the movie onto a USB stick. The player on the TV itself has no problem with 4K HDR images. With the sound there may be a problem, for example TrueHD Atmos7.1 will not play on the TV. But to be honest I tried about 2-3 HDR movies, and again it was not such a miracle to make my life somehow complicated because of it.
Software- after the initial boot and internet connection I installed new Firmware, since then no new one has been. My TV is otherwise disconnected from the internet, I haven't tested any apps.
Sorting and sorting stations- ideally I would download the tuned stations via USB drive to my computer, quickly sort there, then upload back. Unfortunately, that's not possible here. So classically via the controller, which is a hassle. Fortunately, one doesn't have to do that part, and anyway, out of all those multiplexes I choose a few CT, Nova and Prima stations (about 20), and that's the end of it.

Conclusion
The TV was bought according to certain criteria, and it meets them. The picture is good, so is the sound, and the TV is fast to respond. For seven and a half thousand dollars we have a television that I am happy with.
The TV is a great value for money.
